Get Out! Obon Festival and Disability Pride

There's a lot to do in Mountain View and nearby.

Celebrity diversity and take a walk down Castro Street Saturday, July 21 for the third annual Disibility Pride Parade. Parade starts at 11 a.m. at Centennial Park and ends at Pioneer Park, where a festival will continue until 2 p.m. There will be child and youth activities, plus raffles. Parade led by Grand Marshal, Cynthia Waddell. The parade welcomes all to join disability community to celebrate disability pride and build a community of social justice.

The annual Obon Festival and Bazaar takes place this weekend Saturday, July 21 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, July 22 from Noon to 8:30 p.m. at the . Festival-goers can learn more about Japanese culture with culture, history, bon odori dance, food, arts, sights, sounds and taste. There will be expect game booths, crafts for children bingo, ikebana flower arrangements, cultural book sales, lots of food and beverages, including beer sales. There will also be performances by the temple's daiko drummers and bon odori dancers. Obon is an annual mid-summer Buddhist holiday, called "Kangi-e," a Gathering of Joy.

Napa-based the Anadel Band performs at Saturday, July 21 at 8 p.m. The six member band blends folk, blues, alternative, indie and classical and it's their second time at RRC.

Didn't make it to Napa this weekend? Well, let Napa and the world come to you. Stop by this Sunday, July 22 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a flight of Spain's Tempranillo grape and Grenache blend tasting. There will be four different 90 plus point wines to taste: 2010 BV Noe Rioja Tempranillo, 2008 Vina Mayor Toro Tempranillo, 2009 La Langa Pasion Garnacha and 2010 Ground Effect Paso Robles Grenache blend.
