Mountain View Honored by National League of Cities

City wins 10 medals across four categories for its health and wellness efforts.

Residents of Mountain View know it's a great city to live in and now so does the whole nation.

The National League of Cities recognized Mountain View this week with awards and recognition for its efforts towards accomplishing health and wellness goals in Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties (LMCTC). The initiative encourages elected officials to adopt and promote healthy living in their communities.

Of of the 541 medals awarded by the League to 118 communities nationwide, Mountain View took home four for the following:

  • Bronze Medal in Goal I: Start Early, Start Smart
  • Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals in Goal II: MyPlate, Your Place
  • Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals in Goal IV: Model Food Service
  • Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals in Goal V: Active Kids at Play

This placed Mountain View in second place, after Meriden, CT for cities with populations between 50,000 and 99,999 people.
