'Freedom Train' to Roll Monday

The annual special run train between San Jose and San Francisco honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

 In conjunction with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the "Freedom Train" will depart at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station.

The popular annual event is sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley.

The train will make stops at the Sunnyvale at 9:45 a.m., Palo Alto at 9:59 and San Mateo at 10:22 a.m. stations before arriving in San Francisco at 10:55 a.m.

Caltrain officials said there will be no special southbound service, but the train will depart southbound from San Francisco at 1 p.m.

Caltrain runs on a regular Monday schedule on MLK, Jr. Day.
