Get Out! Things To Do This May 5-11

Meet your "Quota" and more this week with these five outstanding events.

Learn more about a local organization, Quota Club, enjoy an “Afternoon of Music” or an evening, delve in to your otherworldly side with a UFO seminar and geek out with Free Comic Book Day.

  1. You are invited to attend the Quota Club of Mountain View/Los Altos Business Luncheon today, May 5, and learn more about the club. Quota is a service organization that has been serving Mountain View/Los Altos and the South Bay for over 62 years. Check out the program lunch and see firsthand the many projects both locally & internationally that Quota participates in.   2. The music continues the next day, May 6, at the , 230 San Antonio Cir., beginning at 7 p.m. This free event is a CSMA Faculty Concert, part of the CSMA Workshop Week, and will feature Amy Hsieh (cello), Anthony Doheny (violin), Mihail Iliev (bassoon) and Liz Poole (piano).   4. In the mood for something completely different? How about attending the seminar, , on May 6, 7:30 p.m., at the , 201 South Rengstorff Ave. Is there a relationship between these events and the emergence of the World Teacher into our everyday world? Be audience to an intriguing talk and video presentation that explores the relationship between alleged UFO sightings, crop circles, and other unexplained events and the emergence of the World Teacher into our everyday world. 
  5. Saturday May 7, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. is Free Comic Book Day at your local locations: Mountain View,1020 N. Rengstorff Ave., Suite F, and San Mateo, 2222 S. El Camino Real. In addition to giving away “mountains” of free comics, you can also save 10 percent on everything in the store (with the exception of subscriptions); save 10 percent on the stores’ wall books; 50 percent off on bin back issues and sets; and thousands of 25 cent issues. Plus, get your Geronimo Stilton graphic novels and Free Comic Book Day comic Books signed by the artists at the Mountain View location from 12 pm to 2 pm.
