Grab and Go in Mountain View: Ice Cream Social, Movies in the Park and More

A wacky trio of musicians hit the stage at the park, robot fun with the kids and an ice cream social for young and old.

Where/When: Cubberly Theatre, 4000 Middlefield Rd, Palo Alto. Wednesday, 6:30 pm to 9 pm. 

Why Go: Ken Denmead, editor and publisher of GeekDad.com, will dive into the world of hands on fun for the family. Presented by the Commonwealth Club, Denmead will discuss the best Do-It-Yourself projects, experiments and weekend adventures. Denmead will also be available to sign copies of his book after the presentation.

Why Go: It's the annual Community in Action Team (CAT) ice cream social where neighbors in Castro City come together before the start of the school year for ice cream and fun kid-friendly activities.

Why Go: This weeks performance is "The Brementown Musicans" where a traveling trio of musicans arrivie in a town that isn't quite fond of new guests. The group eventually wins the town over and earns a hearty supper in the fun-filled musical number.

Why Go: This week's feature Disney film is the "The Princess and the Frog," a 2009 release. The family-friendly movie is a story based off the E.D. Baker novel The Frog Princess. With only a handful of Friday night family features left in the summer movie series, this week's choice is the perfect escape for you and the family.

Why Go: What's cooler than playing with robots anyways? Take the kids and have them explore Mars with a robot rover or design their very own in the brand-new exhibit located in the Lower Level.
