Grab and Go Kids Planner: Magic, Theater and a Look at Food

Here are our suggestions for your kid's planners this week.

A little bit of magic, theater outings to kid-friendly plays, a teen night at the gym and a kids' food drive--these activities can keep your kids busy this weekend.

EVEN YOU CAN DO MAGIC!

Where/When: Firefly Willows, 111 Main St. Los Altos, 7 p.m. to 9

Why Go: Learn to entertain yourself, your kids and your guests with art and the craft of Magic. Regardless of your skill you can learn. Bring the kids and they'll be future stars.

Pricing: $5

YOU ARE WHERE? URINETOWN!

Where/When: , Saturday, June 25 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Why Go:  Watch alumni as they return to the stage to perform this story of "greed, corruption, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold." Urinetown is rated PG by Music Theatre International.

Pricing: $20 

TEEN OPEN GYM NIGHT

Where/When: , 1500 Middlefield Road, Saturday, June 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Why Go: Do your teenagers complain about not having anything to do on a Saturday night? Remind them about the free gym night where they can play sports like basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, ping-pong or just want to hang out with your friends. Open to middle and high school students.

Pricing: Free with student ID 

 

Where/When: 3535 Truman Ave.; Friday, Saturday, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Why Go: The roster of performers is made up of alumni of  The Music School and Mountain View High School Choir. It will be an evening of pure joy as you listen to the music and watch the show from some of our favorite performers. Jill Denny directs. 

Pricing:  $15 adults; $10 kids 

Where/When: , 660 Stanford Shopping Ctr, Palo Alto, Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Why Go: It's all about food at the Stanford Shopping Center. Food for kids, that is.  Kids are invited to participate in food-related arts and crafts, a food drive benefiting a local hunger relief organization, and in return, Kidgets members get a free apron.
