How Low Can Gas Prices Go?

Not so long ago, we all complained about the rise in the price of gas. Somebody, somewhere heard our prayers.

If you've filled up your gas tank lately, you probably noticed how much more you can get--and save.

Following weeks of rising gas prices throughout California, pump prices have now turned the corner and started to fall in the Golden State, according to AAA Insurance, which tracks gas prices as a service to consumers.

The organization's survey of gas prices revealed that every metro area in Northern California saw a drop in its average price over the past month.

On Monday, June 25, the Arco gas station on the corner of Shoreline Boulevard and W. Middlefield Road posted the price of unleaded gas at $3.73.

Mapquest shows that the cheapest gas in the South Bay appears to be in Gilroy at $3.18 followed by Cupertino at $3.53, according to Patch's Commute page.

Gas prices will continue to drop this summer, according to economists, due to a drop in crude oil as a result of the increase in Saudi Arabian supply and higher United States refinery production.

Experts expect gas prices to hit $3.
