Mountain View Residents Support Their Furry Friends

The Humane Society Silicon Valley's annual fundraiser held successful fundraiser.

The Humane Society Silicon Valley raised 15 percent more money at their 2013 fundraiser than the previous year and some Mountain Viewers made that possible.

The Fur Ball annual fundraiser held in April in Menlo Park brought together more than 500 people and pets—all focused on providing better care to the animals at the HSSV shelter.

HSSV President Carol Novello reminded attendees of the “…three words [that] guide us toward a vital idea: When you connect an animal with a person, you enrich two lives.”

The HSSV provides the animals medical treatment and special behavior modification programs and according to Novello since 2007, HSSV helped the organization save one hundred percent of the healthy animals that entered its care.

Further, the 2013 Fur Ball raised over $730,000 in life-saving funds for the 84-year old organization—a new record and a 15 percent increase from 2012.
