Remembering Matthew Manoukian

Manoukian, the son of Socrates "Pete" Manoukian and Patricia Bamattre-Manoukian, grew up in Los Altos with his brothers Michael and Martin. He attended locals schools, including from which he graduated in 2001. It is at will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18 at 3 p.m.

Manoukian valiantly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2006 on Friday, Aug. 10 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

On Aug. 14, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. and California's First Lady extended condolences to the family and honored Capt. Manoukian, as they did to the families of Staff Sgt. Sky R. Mote. The governor ordered flags flown at half staff.
