Traffic Lights Out on El Camino Real and Shoreline Boulevard

The lights have been out for almost an hour and PG&E tells Patch that they don't have it listed as out.

Be careful as you head across the busy intersection of El Camino Real and Shoreline Boulevard this afternoon.

Reports of the traffic lights being out began to pour into the police dispatch around 2:45 p.m.

By 3:15 p.m. when Mountain View Patch arrived at the scene and the lights had not been restored. Patch observed Graham Middle School students carefully cross the streets.

And while most cars followed the four-way stop sign rule, there was still a lot of honking as cars making left-hand turns tried to manuever into lanes. At one point a green Honda SUV cut in front of an eastbound VTA No. 22 bus, causing the bus driver to honk and break.

PG&E Spokeswoman Monica Tell told Patch at 2:52 p.m. that they did not see this outage on their reports, but she would investigate the matter.

Stay tuned as Patch reports from the scene.

It was still out after 6 PM!

I wanted to stay to report when the light returned, but I left right before 6 p.m. I actually hadn't had anything lunch so I sat inside the vegetarian restaurant next to Baskin Robbins and watch it all continue to unfold. At first I was on the side of the Shell Gas Station, and I'll admit, I was worried about crossing. But if all the kids could, then I figured I could too!
