Burke and Levy Falter as Competition Heats Up on Dancing With the Stars

Cheryl Burke tried to get Latin soap star William Levy to Jive—unsuccessfully according to judge Len Goodman on Dancing With the Stars Monday night.

"Well, it is, what it is. You went long, you lost timing during the end part," he said, but was interrupted by the booing audience, "The show is live, you can't say 'let's do it again.' I see a pattern coming. Last week you went long, this week you went long. You have to nail the routines William, otherwise anything can happen."

Still, the , two-time Dancing With the Stars Champion and former Menlo Park resident, Burke, and Levy remain in the thick of things as other strong competitors like Jaleel White and Katherine Jenkins also had a less than desirable scores.

In her weekly newsletter to studio patrons, Burke said, "this week William's versatility was tested again with one of the toughest dances, Jive. William pulled out all the stops, making this an exciting, sexy performance!"

Levy and Burke will surely be saved as both have legions of fans who will call or text their vote. However, with Donald Drivers' 27 and Maria Menounos' 26, the competition is definitely far from over.

"Our dancing on the show is fast becoming a race for the finals earlier than expected," Burke said. "Everyone is pushing toward a level of celebrity excellence we have never seen before on DWTS."
