Despite Injury, Red Hot Tango By Levy and Burke

Nine teams battled it out Latin-style during week five of Dancing With the Stars.

Apparently William Levy, half of Team Fuego on Dancing With the Stars, hurt his ankle during rehearsal Sunday—but you wouldn't know it from his powerful footwork and smooth handling of partner Cheryl Burke on Monday night.

"I saw mood, I saw passion, I saw sensuality and color, well done," said Len Goodman, the toughest of the three judges .

This week the pair's tango scored a 29, their highest of the competition.

It was Latin Night on the dance program and the nine remaining couples had plenty of opportunities to shake their hips, shimmy across the stage, while at the same time adding that extra bit of sex appeal that probably went a long way when the public voted.

Still, the other teams continue to be right at Burke and Levy's heels. Team KMark, comprised of Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, received an impressive 29 for their tango.

"It was poetry in motion," said Judge Carrie Ann Inaba.

And though this week Goodman was less impressed with celebrity Donald Driver, who despite nailing his lifts of Peta Mergatroyd in the tango, had less than memorable footwork. Still, Team DrivingMissPeta came away with a respectable 27. Maria Menounos and Derek Hough, Team Menough, sizzled with their salsa to a 27.

In her weekly newsletter to her dancers, Burke–a Menlo-Atherton graduate– and said:

"Last night I hope you enjoyed our Argentine Tango, because the rehearsals and the performance renewed our commitment to come out on top. The dance fits the passion and determination that William brings to his dancing. No matter where we rank each week, I'm always proud of him because he always does his best."
