Come meet Bay Area author Michelle Richmond as she discusses her novels and life as a creative writing teacher and working writer.

About the author:                                                                                                                                                    Richmond has authored five books, including an award winning collection of short stories The Girl in the Fall Away Dress (2001), Dream of the Blue Room (2003) and No One You Know (2008). Her New York Times and International Bestseller The Year of Fog (2007) was also chosen as the 2011 Silicon Valley Reads book of the year. A James Michener Fellow and the recipient of the Hillsdale Award for Fiction and the Mississippi Review Fiction Prize, Richmond currently serves on the Executive Council of The Authors Guild and was the Spring 2012 Sister Catherine Julie Cunningham Visiting Scholar at Notre Dame de Namur University.

Richmond has taught Creative Writing in the MFA programs at the University of San Francisco, St. Mary’s College and Bowling Green State University. She also offers online writing workshops and private manuscript consultations. She publishes the online literary journal Fiction Attic and also writes a blog for “aspiring writers and voracious readers” called Sans Serif.
