Do You Feel Philthy Rich?

  • Who: Philthy Rich of Nu-Ricks productions. Philip Beasely, better known by his stage name Philthy Rich, is an American rapper signed to SMC Recordings & Town Thizzness, a subdivision of the late Mac Dre's label Thizz Entertainment. He was born in Oakland in 1983. Minaj & Kreayshawn also appear.
  • What: Listen to some underground Hip Hop right here in Mountain View.

Coffee and Music with Friends

  • Who: Geoff Baker and friends (Brad Sanzenbacher and John Nash)
  • What: Listen to some good old indie-folk sounds in one of Mountain View's most reliable music venues.
  • When: Friday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: Red Rock Coffee
  • Price: Free

Load Up on Healthy Goodies

  • Who: Mountain View Farmers' Market
  • What: Regional farmers, cooks and gourmet food bring the best
  • Where: 600 W. Evelyn Ave.
  • When: 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
  • Price: Varies.

'Somewhere,' here on the West Side (Story)

  • Who: Tony Award-winning actress Priscilla Lopez of A Night in the Ukraine (Tony Award, Best Featured Actress) and In the Heights (Best Musical 2008) and New York City Ballet principal dancer Michael Rosen featured as "Chino" in the 2009 Broadway Revival of West Side Story, and was a principal dancer in Peter Martin’s The Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s Harlequinade, and the Jerome Robbins Celebration at New York City Ballet.
  • What: Somewhere, a new TheatreWorks production, about a Puerto Rican family of artists in New York who hope to follow their dreams, but doubt gets in the way.
  • Where:Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts
  • When: Wednesday, Jan. 16 until Sunday, Feb. 10.

Leap into Ballet

  • Who: Bayer Ballet Academy
  • What: Audition for the 2013 Summer Intensive Ballet Program for children, which runs four weeks from Monday through Friday from July 15 to Aug. 9, 2013. Reservations required (info@bayerballetacademy.com).
  • Where: 2028 Old Middlefield Way
  • When: Sunday Feb. 3 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 for ages 8 to 10; 11 a.m until 1 p.m. for ages 11 to 18.
  • Why: Opportunity for intensive classica Russian-style ballet training. Focus on posture, balance, stretching, strenght, coordination, stability, jumps and musicality.
