Get Out! Things To Do This May 19-25

A book sale, karaoke, dancing, the 15th Annual A La Carte & Art, and a performance at Red Rock Cafe. A taste of the entertainment going on this weekend in MV.

1) The on May 21 is your chance to stock up on books at a bargain price. Located in the Bookmobile Garage of the , 585 Franklin St., the sale will take place May 21 from 10 am to 4 pm and May 22 from 11 am to 4 pm. However, members of the Friends of the Mountain View Library are allowed early entrance from 9 am to 9:45 am on Saturday morning. May 22 means it is “Bag Sale Sunday” from 2 pm to 4 pm. 2) Nothing says “It’s the weekend!” like , 820 E. El Camino Real, Friday through Sunday nights. Have a drink, then have a laugh while belting out your favorite songs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Call 650-969-2098 for more information.

3) For those that consider dancing and A-list treatment as the ultimate party, there is (251 Castro St.). From 7 pm to 2 am on May 21, you and your crew will be treated to “celebrity” treatment plus the sounds of DJ D-Roc and other guest DJs spinning the best of top 40, hip hop, house, and dance music every Saturday night at Zen Lounge. You can also check out live video mixing all night long. 4) Do not be the only one to miss the May 21 and May 22 at , 444 Castro St. This art, edibles, and entertainment packed event marks the kick-off of the Bay Area’s outdoor festival season. Mountain View’s premier festival features artisan specialty food purveyors; a classic car show; a farmers’ market with fresh seasonal produce; festive food and drink (premium wine, microbrews, margaritas, and mojitos); health and wellness displays; home and garden exhibits; kids’ amusements in the Tons of Fun Zone; live music; over 200 West Coast artisans in a a juried arts and crafts show. 5) Spend the evening of May 20 at enjoying entertainment provided by Justin Froese with Andrea Blunt. The performance, described as “expertly crafted pop and delicious songwriting”, begins at 8 pm at downtown Mountain View’s only not-for-profit cafe.
