Mountain View Gears Up for SV Beer Week

Craft beer is all the rage. Curious? Drop by these Mountain View bars and restaurants and find out what the fuss is all about.

If you think people will visit Silicon Valley this week just for the tech, you'd be wrong.

It's the inaugural year of Silicon Valley Beer Week and many Mountain View restaurants and bars will participate to highlight their craft beer selections and food.

Here's a list of what to expect around the city:

Tuesday, July 30th

  • Francesca's, 2135 Old Middlefield Way. Pints for Tommy. All proceeds will benefit injured volunteer firefighter Tommy Anderson, his wife Melissa and their families. Anderson suffered a crippling spinal cord injury in April. Featuring 10 legit beers from Speakeasy ales and lagers
  • Stein's Beer Garden, 895 Villa St.: Tonight at Steins - Beer Garden + Restaurant they will have a ‪‎Tap Takeover‬ by Port Brewing/The Lost Abbey with 15 of their amazing craft beers.

Wednesday, July 31

  • St. Stephen's Green, 223 Castro St.: Widmer Wednesday Brewery Night. Buy a Widmer beer and get a limited edition SF Giants glass. 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 1st

  • Francesca's, 2135 Old Middlefield Way. The Baker's Dozen. Taste 13 different beers from craft beer Pioneers, the Widmer Brothers from Portland.
  • Tied House, 954 Villa St. ‪‎To celebrate IPA Day‬, all IPAs, including Ale of the Imp, Single Hop Series Magnum, and Hoptopia will be $5 glass all day. 

Friday, Aug. 2

  • Francesca's, 2135 Old Middlefield Way. Taste the Chicago-style food of Mountain View-based Maxwell St. Food Truck paired with 6 different Goose Island Ales from their vintage collection: The Illinois – Imperial IPA paired with Deviled Crab Crostata; Sofie - Saison-Style Farmhouse Ale paired with Strawberry & Watermelon Salad with Arugula Pesto; Matilda – Belgian-Style Pale Ale paired with White Bean Falafel & Pea Sprouts; Pere Jacques – Belgian-Style Dubbel paired with Pork Tostada with Plum & Date Salsa; Pepe Nero – Black Rye Saison-Style Farmhouse Ale with Pepper paired with Ostrich Slider with Black Pepper Mayonnaise; Sofie Paradisi – Saison-Style Farmhouse Ale with Grapefruit paired with Grapefruit Meringue Tart.
  • St. Stephen's Green, 223 Castro St.: Freaking Good Beer Friday with Speakeasy. Buy Speakeasy and get a glass. Starting at 5 p.m.
