'Twilight' Fans Thirsty For Tickets to Tonight's Final Movie

Excitement for 'Breaking Dawn: Part 2,' the final installment in the blockbuster movie franchise, could be felt across South Bay.

The final film installment of "Twilight," based on the best-selling vampire books, opens in theaters Friday and many Bay Area fans, known as "Twihards," have snatched up tickets for the series' end.

At Century Cinema 16 on Shoreline Boulevard, there's at least one screening almost every hour on the hour, and in the evening almost every 30 to 50 minutes.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2," based on the books by Stephanie Meyer, is opening with late-night showings tonight to much excitement from fans, many aligned with "Team Jacob" or "Team Edward," the two male leads played by actors Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson.

The books and movie adaptations about vampires, werewolves and misfit teenager Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, who becomes part of the fantasy world, have garnered widespread popularity.
