The Mountain View location officially opened Wednesday, July 10 at 11 a.m.

If you can't get to New Jersey, let New Jersey come to you.

Jersey Mike's Subs has brought the taste of the Atlantic shores to Mountain View, Los Altos and Palo Alto residents now that they've opened a location this Wednesday, July 10 at 634 San Antonio Rd.

As part of their grand opening celebration Franchise owner Cathy Brown has offered free regular subs, with a minimum $1 donation, to help support Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA). Jersey Mike's will circulate 10,000 coupons throughout the community. Of the coupons distributed, 7,500 will be valid from July 10 through July 14, with the remaining 2,500 being valid from July 15 through July 21.

"It's a good thing for the community and for getting people in the front door to try our subs," said Brown said. This is her seventh Jersey Mike's restaurant; the second in Northern California.

"The school provides musical and art education programs for people of all ages and abilities. Through our grand opening fundraiser we hope to make a difference by supporting programs that foster creativity and inspire the school’s many students."

Brown, a former high school teacher, expressed her excitement at the partnership with CSMA for the fundraiser because of all the work they do in the community.

Staff at CSMA felt appreciative that Jersey Mike's chose them to benefit from a potential $10,000 in funds that could come their way.

CSMA Director of Development Colette Rodgers told Patch that donation would go into CSMA's general operating funds.

Since 2010, Jersey Mike's locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's has more than 600 stores nationwide. Brown shared that more stores will open in the Bay Area, with the next cluster centered on the Interstate 680 corridor. Danville opens Aug. 14th.

What makes a Jersey Mike's sub special, Brown explained is the onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices. Their turkey is 99.9 percent fat free and not genetically modified. They used Patrick Cudahy pork.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at 650-941-6453.
