'Evening with Author Mitch Albom' Tonight at Kepler's Books

Writer of best sellers "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" will discuss his new novel.

Mitch Albom, author of "Tuesdays with Morrie" and "The Five People You Meet in Heaven," will discuss his new book, "The First Phone Call from Heaven," tonight at 7 p.m. at Kepler's Books in Menlo Park.

"An Evening with Mitch Albom" begins at 7 p.m. as part of the bookstore's Arts & Lectures events -- and is Albom's last stop on his West Coast book tour.

Tickets are $40 (includes a copy of Albom's new book) and $20, and can be purchased at Kepler's or online here.

His new book, "The First Phone Call from Heaven," is the story of a small Midwestern town whose residents begin to get phone calls from the departed, is dubbed as equal parts mystery, love story, and an allegory about the power of belief.

Albom's books have collectively sold over 33 million copies worldwide and made into Emmy Award-winning and critically-acclaimed television movies.

An internationally renowned and best-selling author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, and broadcaster, Albom is also an ardent philanthropist who has founded six charities for the needy and disenfranchised, many in the metropolitan Detroit area, and operates an orphanage in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Books will be available for purchase at tonight's event. Attendees must have a copy of "The First Phone Call from Heaven" to enter the signing line.

Kepler's Books is located at 1010 El Camino Real in Menlo Park.
