Evernote Named Company of the Year; Google Takes On Apple

Evernote took home Inc. Magazine top honor for the 2011 Company of the Year. The company located on Evelyn Avenue helps its users remember and organize their online world and according to Inc., they've received cult-like status in Japan. Mountain View-based online accounting firm, Outright, released top sales data for the holiday season. November 28 or Cyber Monday was the best sales day for online sellers while December 5 topped the list for offline sole proprieters.

Stop Online Piracy Act or SOPA supporting companies will no longer be allowed at Y Combinator’s Demo Day, announced Paul Graham, its founder and investor. If passed, SOPA will be able to force sites to go offline on grounds of copyright infringement almost instantly.
