Hotel Vue Unveils New Hip Look

Mountain View isn't known for its hotels. It does have them and one of them wants to become memorable.

Hotel Vue located at 64 W. El Camino Real underwent a significant renovation to the interior and exterior of the structure to attract a more business, techie clientele.

"People are looking for the boutique experience," said General Manager Angelica Smith. "This area is thriving with new businesses, especially startups. As a boutique hotel there is more catering to hotel guests and we try to go above and beyond a traditional hotel."

On Thursday, July 17th, Hotel Vue held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this transformation. Previously called the Hotel Lodge, the Patel family—wife Sima, husband Peter and son Dhruv—acquired the facility in December 2012. It took them nearly eight months to complete the renovation of the 57-room structure, Sima explained.

The Patels also hope to add bike racks to accommodate guests who want to ride around Mountain View since the Yuba Street trail head to Stevens Creek Trail is nearby.

"This wonderful makeover of this 1970s hotel is truly wonderful," said Mountain View Mayor John Inks. "It's a very modern, significantly updated facility."
