Lettuce Sandwich Shop Closes

A once popular hangout for Mountain View and Los Altos students has closed.

After stopping in at Peninsula Beauty this week after 11 a.m. I notice how dark the interior of Lettuce Sandwich Shop was.

"How odd," I thought. "It's lunchtime."

Sure enough, when I approached the store front a sign on the door said:

"I'm sorry. Lettuce is now closed and will not reopen."

There's was no other sign or city permit for a new restaurant. But Patch will stay on it.

Does anyone know what happened? How long has it been closed? What would you like to see in its place?
