Tied House Wins Outstanding Large Business Award

The Mountain View Chamber of Commerce will recognize the longtime downtown Mountain View business at the annual Celebration of Leaders program on Friday.

The Tied House Brewery & Café is among numerous local businesses and community leaders who will be recognized Friday, Jan. 24 at the 19th Annual Celebration of Leaders program presented by the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and other local non-profit agencies.

During the program, the chamber will give Tied House its Outstanding Large Business Award in recognition of its many contributions to the local business community. Tied House has been family-owned and operated since 1987 in downtown Mountain View. It’s recognized for its wide selection of beers which it has been brewing for more than two decades.

“’We are honored and grateful to be recognized for such a prestigious award,” said Sabio Vasquez, General Manager for Tied House Brewery & Café.

Community Involvement

Vasquez cited the company’s longtime community involvement as a key ingredient in its success in Mountain View. “The award comes on the heels of our 25th year here in Mountain View,” he said. “To celebrate that accomplishment, we co-sponsored The Beerwalk Mountain View with Jack's Bar, and also worked with Steins Beer Garden to put on the first annual Mountain View Oktoberfest. Both events were fundraisers that supported programs in our area, and highlight our continued dedication to the community that has supported us for over a quarter century.”

This award is just the latest in accolades the Tied House has received over the years. In September 2012 Tied House was given the Hometown Hero Award by the Mountain View-based Community Services Agency in recognition of its community involvement.

Award-winning Beer

Specially-brewed beer from Tied House has been recognized with awards and accolades from a variety of sources including the California State Fair, World Cup of Beer, and the Great American Beer Festival. From 2010 through 2013 Tied House’s Ironwood Dark English Brown ale garnered first place awards at the California State Fair, beating out more than 50 other breweries for the top spot.

This year’s Celebration of Leaders program is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 at Oshman Family Jewish Community Center, 3921 Fabian Way. Palo Alto. For details, call the Mountain View Chamber of  Commerce at 650-968-8378.
