Villa Rouge Moves to Castro Street

The interior design stores moves around the block in downtown Mountain View.

As Villa Rouge approaches its second anniversary, it will get a brand new look.

The interior design store has moved from its original location at 714 Villa St. to 282 Castro St., the space formerly occupied by Mystyq. Mystique closed on Sept. 28, 2013 after it lost its lease and the owner decided to retire.

The space, which had been vacant for several months, belongs to the startup Quixey, search engine for apps. Quixey's CEO Tomer Kagan hoped for a Philz Coffee, but the City of Mountain View really wanted to maintain the space as retail, the city's former assistant director of community development Ellis Berns told Patch in an earlier interview.

What do you think of this move? Do you want more retail on Castro Street?
