Wing Fiesta Hopes to Turn Up the Heat

The company's ninth Bay Area restaurant opens in Mountain View.

Mountain View has a lot of restaurants, but not one dedicates itself exclusively to the art of making hot wings—but the wait is now over!

Wing Fiesta, which opened last week on the corner of Showers Drive at 2500 El Camino Real, hopes to live up to its name and bring a party of flavors to your palate.

Started by a trio of friends, the Mountain View location is the ninth for the Hayward-based chicken franchise. According to Chief Financial Officer Feng Wang, it all began with the most of obvious reasons—they all like food, especially chicken wings, so they decided to start something themselves.

Weng, who has a doctorate in computer science, worked at Cisco and explained that they treats the wing-making process they would in the research and development division at Cisco.

"All of the food as been tested many, many, times by our company," said Wang, adding that the process is now lean and consistent. "We use all of management skills I learned from Cisco."

To appease healthy eaters, the regular or boneless wings are first baked and then fried to make the outside crispy, Wang shared. Customers can then enjoy them with any of the 15 different sauces from habanero to lemon pepper.

The menu also includes french fries—topped either with parmesan, chili, garlic, or ranch—and options for a chicken wrap and chicken sandwich.

But besides the wings, Wang hopes the community embraces the restaurant too.

"We want to support local sports leagues," he said. "We want to be a local franchise where every store is part of the community too."

Wing Fiesta will also hire staff locally too and are currently accepting applications.
