- After the volatile day the American stock market had today, Mountain View based American Century Investment analyst Richard Weiss told Bloomberg news that investors have started to move their money into bonds and gold.
- The social networking companies in Silicon Valley built their companies by first testing their products in the United States, but now they've outgrown the United States market and have set theirs eyes oversees. Here's a very poignant look at the influence companies like Facebook, Google and LinkedIn have on countries like India as written by the New Zealand Herald.
- In a crash heard round the world, Google's self-driving car crashed while driven by a human behind the Costco on Rengstorff Street. The crash caused the Toyota Prius to hit another Prius which hit a Honda Accord which hit another Accord.
- Dozens of media outlets, , covered the Musicians United for Safe Energy, also labeled the 'No-Nukes' concert this weekend at Shoreline Amphitheatre. Plenty of legendary stars like Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne and Crosby Stills & Nash performed at the benefit event. Here's the San Jose Mercury's review, which commended the performance but noted the lower than probably expected gate attendance.
- International Business Times reports that Google has selected the German architectural form of Ingenhoven Architects to construct their new building on the 9.4 acres at the corner of Charleston Road and Shoreline Boulevard. Construction should begin in 2012.
