Because so much more happens in the city of Mountain View than we can cover!

A lot happens in Mountain View. A lot. The city of approximately 75,000 people increases to more than 100,000 in the daytime, when people come from other Bay Area cities to work.

On weekends, attractions like Shoreline Amphitheatre, the Center for the Performing Arts and the hundreds of restaurants in the city serve as great day trips.

  • The Mountain View Whisman School District has dodged a financial bullet since it approved its budget, because of extra funds it received, reports the Mountain View Voice.
  • After the world learned that the British newspaper News of the World hacked the phones of private citizens to get information for stories, the Ruport Murdoch-owned paper shut down. Now, Bloomberg News explores the security of Android and Apple mobile operating systems and the possibility that they could also be hacked.
  • If you've read all of the books written about Google, don't fret; a new one just hit the shelves. Written by former San Jose Mercury News staffer, Douglas Edwards, his memoir, I’m Feeling Lucky, looks back at his time as a Googler, where he ran the brand marketing division. According to the Bloomberg News reviewer, the book is "highly entertaining."
  • Congratulations to St. Francis High School graduate Aswhin Reddy, who has won scholarship money for college, reports Bay Insider.
