In The News: SETI Meets Goals and Google-Motorola Deal Makes Headlines

A lot happens in Mountain View. A lot. With so much going on and a lot of media attention focused on Mountain View, we decided to help you sort through it and compile some of the top news stories for you in one place. Feel free to add links of stuff we may have missed in the comment section below.
- The SETI Institute surpassed its goal to fundraise $200,000 needed partly to keep the Allen Telescope Array operational and listening for extraterrestrial life. Among the donors was actress Jodie Foster who played a SETI astronomer, reported the Winnipeg Sun.
- The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette interviewed Mountain View resident John Mozart and Jay Leno in the same article. Why? Because both own Stutz Bearcats—the first true American sports car.
- As the news began to settle of Google's acquisition of Motorola Mobility, the patent war between Google and Apple continued to heat up with suggestions that each has begun to recruit more in-house attorneys, reports Bloomberg News.
- Perhaps part of Google's purchase of Motorola is linked to Google's leasing of four building in Sunnyvale, reports Bloomberg News.
