Mountain View Police Locate Missing Man

Family told police the man had sent suicidal text messages to them.

Mountain View police have located a man reported missing Thursday after his family said he had written suicidal text messages to them, a police dispatcher said.           

Joseph Kao, 56, had last been seen in Mountain View at 134 Castro St. at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, police said.           

Kao's family said they heard from him Thursday when they received the suicidal text messages at 2:47 p.m.           

On Friday morning police were not immediately releasing information about how and where they found Kao, the dispatcher said.
