All lanes have reopened on northbound Interstate 280 after a severe traffic alert issued was by the Metropolication Transportation Commission Thursday afternoon.
A cement truck had overturned and caused a nasty spill at Saratoga Avenue, and the MTC issued a sig-alert at 1:37 p.m. The incident occurred at 1:25 p.m.
Campbell Patch Editor Mayra Flores De Marcotte, who drove southbound passed the incident, reported at the time that "it's a parking lot...pretty much a mess all the way to Bascom Avenue in San Jose."
Flores De Marcotte also saw "the cement truck lying perpendicular across the lanes." She snapped this photo of the warning signs for drivers in San Jose of the accident up ahead.
According to the MTC, lanes Nos. 3, 4 and 5 were blocked and they estimated the lanes would reopen by 4 p.m.
But commuters can breathe a sigh of relief—the lanes reopened at 3:11 p.m.
