Try Non-Contact Rugby Free - From AYRU

AYRU - a Mountain View based youth sports organization is providing an opportunity for kids to try a new sport - non-contact rugby, free of charge.

With so many valid concerns about the long term impact of concussion in kids who play football and normal contact rugby, AYRU has made some innovative changes to its program and is now running safer non-contact (flag and touch) forms of rugby this Winter.

Non-contact rugby is fast and furious; its physically demanding and competitive but there are not "big hits" to worry about. Your kids are in a much safer environment. All the normal values associated with Rugby apply to AYRU rugby including high standards of sportsmanship and the utmost respect for opponents and officials.

You children will learn the importance of effective team work and firm leadership. They will enjoy the intense camaraderie that is unique to rugby teams and they will be be physically fitter as the season progresses.

Most rugby clubs in NorCal insist on young children playing contact rugby at an early age, not at AYRU, we take a much more responsible approach. We want children to enjoy their rugby experience. Some will be stars of the future but we want all of them to be safe and enjoy their experience and fall in love with the best sport in the world.

AYRU is unique and is the only youth rugby organization to offer this specific and responsible approach in the silicon valley. Check out our website www.ayru.net for more details.
