I'm Rudolph -- I Play Well With Others

My name, alone, makes me a perfect Christmas gift! I'm a "Home for the Holidays" adoptee.

Rudolph, a cream and white chihuahua, is available for adoption for just $12 at Palo Alto Animal Services as part of its annual "Home for the Holidays" program.

Rudolph is neutered, estimated to be 1-and-a-half years old, and has been at the shelter since Oct. 28, 2013.

He's an outgoing, playful fellow, who gets along fabulously with other dogs -- especially dogs his size. Nicknamed Rudy, he is slightly weary of men at first, so gentlemen should go slow.

Palo Alto Animal Services is among six shelters in Santa Clara County that hope to find homes for some 1,300 animals and are offering $12 adoption fees -- down from $90 to $120  -- for any adult cat or dog through Dec. 31.

The $12 fee covers all benefits such as spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation and registration, vaccinations, defleaing and deworming and FIV/FeLV testing for cats.

Palo Alto Animal Services, 3281 E. Bayshore Road, is open for adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, except for holidays, and closed every other Friday. See its Facebook page here.
