Obituary: Betty Lorraine Polivka (1935-2013)

A loving grandmother dies at age 77.

A resident of Mountain View, Betty Lorraine Polivka died peacefully on Feb. 23, 2013. She was 77.

A native of Ladysmith, Wisconsin born to Bessie and Edwin Pooler, Betty was the oldest of seven children, and is survived by sisters Wanda Smedley and Pat Lewis and brother Edwin Pooler.

She is preceded in death by her husband and special love in life Bill Lawson.

Betty had seven children and is survived by Jimmy Shark, Bessie Cappelletti (John), Mary Bradway, Lonnie Polivka (Lori), Richard Polivka (Emily), and Shane Polivka. Her children were her life and she was always surrounded by them. She had a very loving relationship with her grandchildren and took great pride in bragging about them, and the great-grandchildren.

Betty was spirited, fun loving, and had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She was most happy when socializing and greatly enjoyed being with people. She had a smile that could light up a room.

Her door was always open and she made everyone feel welcome. Betty will be missed for her love, warmth, and caring.
