Obituary: Eammon "Doug" Duggan (1919-2013)

A former Mountain View volunteer fireman, coach and Stanford employee died on July 23rd.

Born in San Francisco, California on Aug. 6, 1919, Eamonn E. "Doug" Duggan passed away peacefully at his Mountain View home on Tuesday, July 23rd. He was 93.

One of the early volunteer firefighters in Mountain View, Duggan’s own son, Terry became a Mountain View Firefighter and later a Palo Alto Firefighter. 

A longtime employee for the Stanford Athletics events, Duggan loved sports and was a great baseball coach for his three sons and their many friends who called him "Coach." He was quiet man with a great love of his family and friends.

He is survived by sons Patrick (Darlene) and Michael Duggan. He was father in law of Kim Duggan; grandfather of Tim (Suzanne), Andrew (Deanna) and Emmitt; great grandfather of T.J., Erick Patrick, Jonathan, Ryan, Brendan and Amber; he was a loving uncle of Karen Duggan and brother in law to Donna and Ellen.

His wife Betty, son Terry and brothers William and Marty preceded him in death.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Noon at Cusimano Family 
Colonial Mortuary, 96 W. El Camino Real, Mountain View. Contributions preferred to Gentiva Hospice, San Jose or St. Francis High School endowed scholarship program.
