Obituary: Ernest W. Bianco (1927-2013)

A Veteran, machinist, boating and model train enthusiast died with his family by his side.

Ernest W. Bianco, a 86-year-old Mountain View resident, passed away on Jan. 17, 2013.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa born on June 25, 1927, Bianco graduated from East High School and then enlisted in both the US Army and Navy.

After working at John Deere as a machinery mechanic, he moved to California in 1952 and worked with his brother Joe in the television vacuum tube industries. This inspired Bianco, in 1962, to start his company Isolation Products Inc.

During his free time, he enjoyed boating, refurbishing old Hit-n-Miss engines and LGB trains. Bianco and his son John were known for their annual Christmas train display.

He is survived by his wife Lucile, loving children John, Mary Jane Singh (Harpal), Jeri Cramer (Arnie), grandson Bryan and sister Francesca.

Visitation takes place at 5 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan 23rd at Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary, 96 W. El Camino Real, Mtn. View. This is followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan 24th at St. Athanasius Church, 160 N Rengstorff Ave, Mtn. View. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos.
