Question: What does the police do when they encounter homeless people living in areas of the city like Stevens Creek Trail?

Answer: When we encounter homeless people in the Stevens Creek area (or throughout the city), we try to check on their welfare.  If they are open to it, we provide them with social service resources or contacts to with their needs and potentially get them off the streets.  However, this can be challenging with mental health and alcohol/drug addiction issues that are common in the people we meet.
