Question: There doesn't seem to be gangs in Mountain View, but yet the police department has a gang suppression unit. Why?

Answer: Unfortunately, Mountain View has a long standing history of gangs.  The gang culture knows no bounds and is a regional problem. The Gang Suppression Team not only operates to, as their name implies, suppress gang activity but works with our youth to help keep them out of gang activity in the first place.
