Bicycle Group Hits South Bay Streets
Police in Mountain View joined forces with other agencies to ensure the safety of bicyclists on South Bay tour.
Mountain View Police officers were on hand Friday night to help make sure things went smoothly as dozens of bicyclists took to local streets in the monthly San Jose Bike Party.
They joined forces with other South Bay law enforcement agencies including members of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Motor Unit, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, and Milpitas police departments, and Santa Clara County CHP to make sure that riders stayed safe.

The idea behind the monthly rides is to build a community through cycling. The event is open to riders of all ages and all levels of fitness. It is not a race and participants are required to obey traffic laws.
The next ride is scheduled for Friday, February 15. The starting location and route will be posted on the group’s website at www.sjbikeparty.org approximately 24 hours before the ride. It won’t be posted anywhere else.
Photos from Friday's ride can be seen on the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety’s Flickr page.
