Cops Respond Thrice to Brawls at Jason Aldean Concert

Some concert-goers got a little out-of-hand during the country music star's show.

At least three incidents of fighting kept the Mountain View Police busy at the Jason Aldean concert on Friday, Sept. 28 at Shoreline Amphitheatre.

At around 10:59 p.m., officers responded to an alleged assault. A 24-year-old female from Hollister claimed a 22-year-old female from San Jose pushed her. About an hour and a half later, as the 22-year-old walked with her boyfriend near the box office, the 24-year-old woman allegedly came up grabbed the other female by the hair, dragged her to the ground, punched and kicked her, according to police. The police report continues to grow explained MVPD spokesman Sean Thompson. The two females received citations.

Aboout 11:23 p.m., police took a report from a 35-year-old female victim who alleged an unknown person punched her in the face during a fight at the concert. The victim told police that while she sat in the third row, she was pushed and when she turned to see who it was, she was punched.

"She looked up and took a picture of the unknown subject," said Thompson about the incident. The victim then visited the security office and got an ice pack, but rejected any further medical assistance. There were no visitors and the case continues to be investigated.

As concertgoers began to leave, at 11:30 p.m., police received a complaint from a 24-year-old woman said that a security worker allegedly hit her in the back of the head with a flashlight.

According to Thompson, the story of the victim and alleged suspect differ. The security guard was called to the sky bar area to break up a fight. Both admit that he tried to help her get out of the area. The security guard told officers that when she climbed out beneath a rail, he said now 'that wasn't so bad' and she swore at him.

The female claimed that as security tried to disperse the area, he struck her in the back of the head with this elbow and flashlight, and demonstrated the motion to the cop. The officer noted in his report, according to Thompson, that he asked her whether the security guard accidentally made contact as he tried to break up the fight. The female remained adamant that she was struck purposefully in the head.

She told the officer she had two drinks that night. The officer took down the report.
