Explosions Marred End of Boston Marathon: 14 Mountain View Runners

A day of celebration has turned into tragedy and chaos as two explosions took place at about two hours after the first man crossed the finished line in Boston this Monday. The time on the marathon clock read 4:09:43.
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick confirmed during the last press conference of the day that three people died and more than 100 people suffered injuries. Here's a link to the Boston PD police scanner.

Edward Davis, Boston Police Commissioner, at an afternoon press conference suggested that a fire at the John F. Kennedy may have been related to the events at on Boylston Street, but by the end of the day moved away from that premise.
The police department would like witnesses to contact 800-494-TIPS. Families can contact the Mayor's Office at 617-635-4500.

According to the Boston Athletic Association website, 14 people registered for the race from Mountain View. Of those, eight had already crossed the finish line.

There is no confirmation about what may have caused the explosion.
