Laptops Stolen from Bio Tech Company

Three computers valued at more than $5,000 taken overnight from Sea Lane Biotechnologies.

Someone entered and burglarized North Bayshore company Sea Lane Biotechnologies and walked off with several laptops, the reports.

According to MVPD Spokeswoman Liz Wylie around 12:03 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, a burglar entered the company located at 2450 Bayshore Pkwy and walked off with three Dell laptops, two valued at $2,500 and one at $750.

However, the department has not determined the method or point of entry.

A research and development company, Sea Lane Biotechnologies works in the creation of therapeutic, influenza and cancer-fighting drugs. It owns the intellectual property rights to multiple patents and has patents pending.

Recently, the company announced that the federal government granted it close to $1.5 million to develop treatments for acute diseases, conditions and help cure cancer within the next 30 years.
