Man Struck, Killed this Morning By Caltrain In Mountain View

Train service, Rengstorff Avenue shut down during investigation.

A man was struck and killed by a Caltrain in Mountain View this morning, Caltrain officials said.

The pedestrian was struck at 10:15 a.m. and the collision shut down train service in both directions near Rengstorff Avenue, Caltrain spokeswoman Jayme Ackermann said.

The train that struck the man was southbound Caltrain No. 134, which had 103 passengers on board.

No one on the train was injured, Caltrain officials said.

A bus bridge will be provided to take passengers between the California Avenue, San Antonio and Mountain View stations, according to Caltrain.

Mountain View police said Rengstorff Avenue is shut down in both directions at Central Expressway while authorities investigate the collision.
