Mountain View Man Killed in Solo Accident

San Jose Police are seeking information about the evening collision with a light pole at Camden Avenue.

A 28-year-old Mountain View man died Sunday evening when his car crashed into a light pole in San Jose, police said.

Officers responded to the crash in the 2200 block of Camden Avenue at 6:36 p.m.

Police found a silver 2002 Nissan Altima that had collided with the pole while traveling east on Camden Avenue. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Santa Clara County coroner's office will conduct toxicology tests, but police said they do not suspect that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
