Officer-Involved Shooting This Morning Shuts Down Sunnyvale Neighborhood
Middle school briefly on lockdown.
An officer-involved shooting has shut down a Sunnyvale neighborhood this morning, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety officials said.
The department has released few details about the shooting, which occurred in the area near North Fair Oaks and East Maude avenues.
Streets are closed surrounding the shooting scene, including on North Fair Oaks, Columbia and East Taylor avenues, public safety officials said.
Columbia Middle School at 739 Morse Ave. was put on lockdown at about 8:50 a.m. but the lockdown was lifted about 20 minutes later, a school official said.
