One Dead in Moffett Field Mobile-Home Fire

Police and fire personnel investigating.

By Bay City News

Firefighters in Mountain View are investigating what caused a mobile home fire near Moffett Field that killed one person early this morning.

At 12:34 a.m., Mountain View firefighters were dispatched to 1075 Space Park Way, where they found the mobile home engulfed in flames, fire department spokeswoman Jamie Garrett said.

Crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring mobile homes, but the unit where the blaze started was too dangerous to enter because of the flames, Garrett said.

The fire destroyed that mobile home, Garrett said. After the blaze was extinguished, firefighters located a body inside.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.

The Mountain View Police Department is also investigating the fatal fire, Garrett said.
