Police Release Sketch of Attempted Burglary Suspect

The Mountain View Police seeks public's help to identify suspect of attempted residential burglary.

The sketch of a young man sought after an attempted home burglary has been made available by the Mountain View Police.

On Tuesday, June 11 around 2 p.m., from inside their home on the 900 block of Boranda Avenue, neighbor noticed the suspect approach the apartment of a neighbor. The man then walked around the side, closer to the witness, and back toward the neighbor's apartment. According to police, "when the homeowner returned, they found pry marks and damage to an exterior door."

The neighbor provided the Mountain View Police Department with a description of the suspect.

"One of the most important things you can do to assist law enforcement is to be a great witness," said Acting Lieutenant Mike Fisher. "Take a moment to observe the individual's clothing, height and weight. Other important details such as tattoos, scars and unusual features are also critical. Combine all of this with a great sketch artist and the end result is a clear visual representation of a suspect."The man has been described as a 20-year-old black male, 5 feet ten inches about 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
