Predawn Crash Closed 101 at Rengstorff

All southbound lanes were reopened shortly before 4:30 a.m. after a five-car accident sends woman to hospital.

A multi-vehicle crash closed all southbound U.S. Highway 101 lanes in Mountain View for nearly two hours early this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

One woman was taken to Stanford Hospital for a laceration and chest trauma suffered in the crash, CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano.

The five-vehicle crash was reported at 2:39 a.m. at North Rengstorff Avenue. A Sig-alert was issued at 2:58 a.m., Caggiano said.

The alert was canceled at 4:21 a.m.  Five tow trucks and two ambulances responded to the crash, Caggiano said.
