Relax Foot Masseur Arrested for Sexual Assault

Tong "Tony" Zhao has been booked into the county jail and police believe more victims are out there.

Police have arrested a masseur at Relax Foot Massage after a San Jose woman may have gotten more than just a massage in Mountain View this week.

Tong "Tony" Zhao, a 65-year-old man from Sunnyvale, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 29-year-old female on Jan. 2, 2012. According to Spokeswoman Liz Wylie, the victim received her massage from Zhao in a private, sectioned-off area, where he allegedly assaulted her.

"The victim immediately ended the massage and called the MVPD to report what had happened," said Wylie. "The victim experienced pain from the assault but was otherwise uninjured."

Law enforcement arrested Zhao, without incident, on Jan. 4 after two days of investigation to determine the evidence against him.

Zhao worked at Relax Foot Massage, at 127 E. El Camino Real, for five years and before that in other Bay Area cities.

In December 2011, a female reviewer on Yelp  gave a man named "Toni" at the Relax Foot Massage a great, but cautious, review. She wrote that he "was trying to get me a female masseuse" but couldn't and while "there were uncomfortable moments ... it was certainly a great massage session and Toni was very professional."

Wylie added that the MVPD believes that there may be other victims and asks anyone who experienced suspicious or criminal behavior at the massage parlor to contact the MVPD at 650-903-6395. The department won't release a photo of Zhao so that they can pick him out of a line-up if asked to do so.
