Tree Falls on House, Causes No Structural Damages (VIDEO)

Incident could have been much worse due to nearby power lines, says fire captain.

The branches of a large tree gave out and landed on the roof of a Mountain View home at 350 Higdon Ave. early Sunday morning.

According Mountain View Fire Department Capt. Tim Harvey, despite there not being any gusts of wind shortly before 1:45 a.m., the large branches must have been weighed down after days of stormy weather.

A larger incident was miraculously avoided, Harvey explained, because the branches avoided taking down some power lines—that connected directly to the home—and which hung inches from where the branches landed.
