Two Arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance

One suspect is a Mountain View resident and the other an East Palo Alto resident.

On a recent late night patrol, a Mountain View Police officer arrested two men  who he initially stopped for routine vehicle code violation.

Luis Rubio, an East Palo driver of a silver Honda Accord, and Jaime Trinidad, the passenger out of Mountain View, were stopped on Aug. 29 at approximately 2:40 a.m. near Pachetti and Showers Drives.

According to the MVPD blog, the Mountain View police officer "determined" that the suspects attempted to "discard or conceal what was believed to be drugs in their vehicle."

The officer also thought several hand-held radios and a car stereo he found had been stolen.

Trinidad and Rubio were arrested under section 11350(A) of the Health & Safety Code for Possession of a Controlled Substance and section 135 of the Penal Code  for Destroying or Concealing Evidence.

Suspect Rubio was also arrested under section 466 of the Penal Code for Possession of Burglary Tools because he allegedly had in his possession a pry tool. 

Both suspects were booked into the San Jose Main Jail without incident.
